300,000 people or 22% of the population of the Liverpool City Region are not online.
I was at the All Together Now AGM yesterday discussing this and various other issues after a really tough year for the organisation who rely on funding to help so many people in the region.
In critiquing one organisation in the city who i approached earlier this year about this, all they wanted to do was to promote their own agenda which was to get more people online. I explained assertively that if it hasn’t happened by now, the figures aren’t going to change a great deal!
I also asked, how about helping these people in a different way by helping those organisations who assist them with the likes of print publications that are priceless to them? No response.

Many of these people rely on the information and support offered by All Together Now.
Because of the nature, magnitude, reach and engagement of their work, this registered charity is almost like a dozen charities in one!
I’m going to continue my trustee work in 2024 having been involved for the last 10 years because like many people in Liverpool and the wider region, I believe in justice, fairness and balance.
