This reminds me of my first few visits to Daisy Inclusive UK in Anfield.
Every time I walked in, the place filled me up. It had a beautiful vibe that you have to experience rather than just see described.
It’s analogous to the feeling many visitors get when they first arrive in Liverpool.
And just like Liverpool has had a very hard time of it over the decades, Daisy has had it too.
CEO Dave Kelly will share this with you (with great humour) and like the city, Dave is a bit of a one-off…you know that phrase, “Only in Liverpool.”
Daisy is celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer with a gala dinner on Saturday August 10th at The Delta Hotel in Liverpool.
The charity helps people with disabilities across the spectrum as well as providing training for organisations to understand and support those with disabilities.
AND ON THAT BOB DYLAN QUOTE, IN SPITE OF THE PAIN BEHIND THE BEAUTIFUL THING THAT IS DAISY, I’VE NEVER HEARD ANY BENEFICIARY COMPLAIN WHEN I’VE VISITED THE CENTRE…ABOUT ANYTHING.
Everyone who attends the Barnes Street-based charity is a vulnerable individual, often for a variety of reasons and through no fault of their own.
Daisy only has one ambition but it’s every day – to help people and their families reach their true potential.
Dave set-up the charity back in 2004, with the aim of creating a safe environment for beneficiaries to take part in sports and other activities.
When you join us on August 10th (i hope you can), you’ll get to experience exactly what I’m expressing here about the whole culture and attitude of Daisy.
“August 10th is a fantastic platform for us to celebrate the impact that we have had on the lives of disabled people and their families over the last two decades,” said Dave, who went blind himself at the age of 30.
Tickets for the event are priced at just £45 or £450 for a table of 10 (while stocks last!) and can be purchased by contacting Paul Burton at Daisy paul.burton@daisyuk.com
Finally, there’s an auction and a raffle (slotted in between a three course meal and entertainment) to help fund the ongoing inspiring programmes that Daisy runs. THE CHARITY IS SEEKING FURTHER AUCTION PRIZES IF YOU CAN HELP?
