IT TAKES A LIVERPOOL FIRM

By Joel Jelen

Looking back to this time in September…

Justice, fairness and balance.

That’s what I know many Liverpool folk to believe strongly in given my 30 years of living and working from here.

I feel the same. And working with clients that share a similar ethos is essential for me and many business colleagues I speak with. I’m unable to do mercenary. Just how I am.

When an opportunity arose earlier this year to represent to media literally, the leading building safety firm in the country – Project Four Safety – it was perfect PR synergy.

Why? You cannot ring journalists about subjects like Grenfell and be anything other than extremely focused, knowledgeable in your subject and have a genuine interest in what you are conveying. And, you’re promoting that very justice, fairness and balance I referred to above.

This might sound obvious.

It’s not because too much of journalism is dominated by click bait. Many of us are feeling that over so many social issues of late.

You will never experience that speaking with the likes of Place North West, Paul Unger Julia Hatmaker and team and the many other business media contacts I speak with across regional business, trade titles and nationals like e.g. the FT and BBC.

And so to yesterday and the scene at The Bridgewater Hall.

A sold out event, the industry showcase featured Project Four Building Safety Experts Ltd. and Place North West in a day-long collab on the Building Safety Act: What have we learned and what comes next?

Companies from all across the country (P4’s catchment area) were present to learn and make a difference within their respective sector that makes up the construction industry.

Rather than just ply their trade in building safety, win contracts and grow, P4’s growth strategy was always going to be refreshingly different under the chairmanship of Alan Robson and guidance of MD Max Meadows given their gregarious nature and nous for networking.

Alan and Max won’t refer to themselves as disruptors and anyway, they are much more than that along with their vastly experienced technical team.

That’s why they were invited and represented the voice of the building safety industry at the House of Commons recently.

And that’s also why they attracted around 300 industry leaders and colleagues from across the UK to Manchester yesterday.

More on this soon.

Yesterday felt poignant in being involved and right in the thick of hundreds of like-minded individuals passionate about what they do.

They all want the best for their industry and of course, the recipients of their work, the public.

We are by association.

Thanks again to P4 and Place North West’s behind the scenes boss Marian Arnold-Lawson and team for looking after us. Paul and Julia ran the show seamlessly. And good to chat with Dino Moutsopoulos too.

A memorable day for all the right reasons. Illustrious speakers and panels and a huge amount of feedback to come no doubt.
