If you follow local businesses and networking activity in the Liverpool City Region regularly, chances are you will have come across a chap with hench legs waving a spatula in people’s faces.
I kid you not. Call it a marketing strategy or a simple PR stunt, but Mark Waldron, co-founder with the often orange clothing-laden Andrea Edwards of MOVE and it’s various constituent parts are attracting a growing movement (sic ed).
It all started with Netwalking early one Sunday morning in the summer of 2019 in West Kirby. Six years later, that same group is bigger and stronger than ever. Indeed, since then, MOVE Netwalking has evolved into Liverpool City Centre on a Wednesday evening, plus a Sefton Park Netwalking event every Saturday morning at 7am.
“It’s all about helping to support businesses in all aspects and ultimately for them to grow,” said Mark.
“If you’d have told me approaching 6 years ago where we would be now, I’d have been very humbled given that we have more than 125 members. In addition to Netwalking, we now offer 90 minute zoom meetings with businesses mentoring each other, one on one coaching for larger businesses, social events with ‘no pressure’ networking and retreats in other countries.
“Given the vision we have, it’s achieved a tiny proportion of what an overall vision is for the brand. Right now, we’re just so happy that so many people get what they need from it, making new friends, enhancing their business and become better human beings – our mantra!”
Andrea Edwards added: “As Mark rightly says, our mission is to make better human beings, and I am extremely proud of the community. Whichever part of the MOVE services our members use, we see such collaboration and growth which is exactly what MOVE is all about. I am proud we offer a safe space to be vulnerable in too, business and life is certainly not a straight line. I also personally get great support and learn each day from our members, what a privileged place to be in. Thank you Mark as well, great teamwork, and we have such fun along the way!
