When Cllr Barbara Murray took on the Lord Mayor of Liverpool role, she promised to do everything in her power to embrace skills acquisition as a priority in helping young people.
Most recently, she launched the Liverpool Youth Trailblazer event for young people aged 18-21 alongside the people who support them.
Held at Liverpool Town Hall, participants learnt more about the direct employment support and funding on offer.
The event was a really good opportunity for young people to engage with partners who can work with them to reduce and remove barriers to work and an opportunity to showcase some of the paid placement and grant funded vacancies on offer.
Good to see so many parents and carers, advisors, coaches, and mentors in attendance.
It’s another, almost daily reminder of why I live here.
‘If you’re in need, need support, or need a friend, help is never far away’ and Barbara Murray‘s passion for championing that sentiment consistently shines out.
You can hear more about the Lord Mayor’s progress and Zeitgeist-like presence across the city right now at this week’s Step Into Christmas Fundraiser on Friday night at Liverpool Town Hall. Well done to everyone for creating a sold out event.
