NOBODY WHO ATTENDED INSIDER MEDIA’S EXCELLENT ST HELENS DEVELOPMENT FORUM SHOULD BE SURPRISED AT THE TURNOUT!

By Joel Jelen

Paul Nicholson was kindly asked to participate in March’s end of month panel discussion at Insider Media’s Borough focus held at the home of the mighty Saints – the Totally Wicked Stadium.

NW Business Insider editor Simon Keegan assured us prior that there would be no ruffians or nomads in the room – if you know your Saint’s history, they were part of St Helens RFC before the Northern Union between 1873 and 1895!

Indeed, more than 200 suited n’ booted keen guests drawn from the cream of North West businesses gathered alongside senior local authority decision makers and stakeholders, to hear about the progress of the Borough and it was an inspiring morning. Thank you to Simon, Robyn Hewson and Remy Greasley plus crucially, sponsors Muse for making it all happen.

Paul was convinced the multiplier effects from the event will encourage many more people that St Helens is a really good place to do business.

Ubiquity PR client Nicholson Group came here in 2016 and they’ve have never looked back.

The key topics of discussion included ‘Developments and the regeneration of the town centre’, ‘The Innovation Economy, from Glass Futures to life sciences’, ‘Growth sectors and local champions’, ‘Opportunities for St Helens within the Liverpool City Region’ and ‘Plans for the 3,000-home Bold Forest Garden Village.’

Paul was in very good company amongst the high profile roster of speakers chosen, namely Lisa Harris, Kate Groucutt, Steven Knowles, MRICS, Sean Traynor, David Travis, Dan Sweeney, Simon Pierce, Justin Kelly, Andy Tatlock and Mike Rush, MSD. Respect to them all for what they brought in really making the event.

It’s clear that the current vision for St Helens will transform the town centre into a modern mixed-use community and elevate its profile across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Paul is now looking forward to reading more in the May printed edition of Insider after reacquainting himself as a panel speaker. Bring on more!
