I’ve met a lot of companies this year who are genuinely driven to do more for their community but have needed support to facilitate their ESG, get help with contacts, etc.
Then there are others like QVC UK who have a phenomenal record in giving back to local community projects. Whilst being very adept at ESG, they choose to partner organisations to enable the process and in return, make a donation.
An Hour for Others (AHFO) has been fortunate enough to receive very generous financial support from QVC UK and have been facilitating some of their ESG with the latest project recently taking place in Kirkby.
I was at the AHFO ‘Unity In The Community’ event along with 16 volunteers from QVC UK at retailer Made To Be Mum and saw the beginnings of a transformation of the concrete back yard into a colourful space!
Artificial grass will be laid down next thanks to local company Warehouse Brands with a mural on the wall being added soon too.
In just a few weeks, a beautiful urban garden space for kids and their parents will have been created as a result of priceless partnerships.
AHFO also brought together volunteers like Kai who built the fenced area from pallets…he’ll also be building a mud kitchen, some seating and tables for the kids to use from pallets donated by Costco Wholesale UK
Then there’s the SPL Group who also completed some emergency rendering for the mural wall too.
It might be hashtag#VolunteersWeek but this kind of activity goes on weekly through the year and organsations like AHFO are driving it.
They have an incredible community of volunteers who generously give their time, skills, and expertise to make a difference.
And, loads of organisations in the Liverpool City Region as a result are:
Strengthening their social impact;
Supporting local communities;
Improving employee engagement and wellbeing;
Demonstrating a genuine commitment to responsible business practices and creating a culture of purpose and giving back.
AHFO volunteers, many of whom are drawn from multiple industries across the private sector in the region, are proof that even a small amount of time can have a significant impact.
Whether it’s mentoring, supporting local initiatives, sharing professional expertise, or simply lending a helping hand, every hour contributes to positive change.
A big salute to all of AHFO’s volunteers and the businesses that support them.
Together, they are all creating stronger communities and a lasting social impact.
If your organisation is looking for meaningful ways to enhance its ESG and CSR commitments, I know AHFO would love to start a conversation!
