Every so often, someone pipes up “yeah, seen you on LinkedIn but what do you actually do?”
I thought it was obvious but I’m not doing my job if I don’t occasionally write a blatant storyteller on what I do!
Given that trust is everything in relationships, before people trust you, they need to understand what you help with.
I help business owners running companies in growth industries and leaders driving organisations in the community sector.
Typically, clients are looking for someone with the contacts in media to create targeted visibility for their brand in print, broadcast and online.
They also want social media expertise to accentuate the coverage.
At the beginning, they often want a complete PR & marketing audit then a strategy for 12 months.
This what people largely remember me and Ubiquity for.
I’d argue that PR has never been more valuable.
Why? It has the ability to shape opinion, create communities, grow brands and influence the influencers.
Probably the most widely held opinion about me is that I empower others with purpose-driven, impactful connections.
Ubiquity builds what can’t be bought – reputations, respect and relationships.
It’s done at speed because information has never travelled quicker.
But it’s also done with emotional intelligence, care, and calculated understanding.
There’s far more to navigate in 2026 but it’s also never been more enjoyable.
Finally, I mentioned RAY FARLEY (pictured) in a 75th birthday post early last week.
He was looking like the dapperrazzi* he is at lunchtime in his favourite spot, San carlo, where they call him Mr. Ray.
We both agreed in our latest catch up that when we started out, we had similar intentions that have remained in tact.
Ray is 60 years into his apprenticeship and I’m just 30 into mine (I was a late developer!).
The point being, we enjoy making people look good, famous for what they offer and getting them the recognition they deserve.
It might sound like a simple business purpose and it is.
It’s 25 years of Ubiquity next month too so I’ll be taking the liberty to celebrate.
Have a good weekend one and all.
*I made this word up as I’m occasionally prone to doing.

I’ve always enjoyed focusing on the positive. When I launched Ubiquity 25 years ago this month, I sensed there would be so many positives along
